Peter Facinelli Engaged to Lily Anne Harrison

© Luigi Novi / Wikimedia Commons   Peter Facinelli proposed to Lily Anne Harrison in Mazatlan during the holidays in 2019. The couple used Instagram to allude to the engagement in January. However, the story broke with an article in People, followed by confirmation in ET Online.  

The Proposal

"Peter and Lily got engaged over the holiday during a romantic getaway to Mexico. Both are beyond elated and are very much looking forward to all that the New Year will bring," his rep told the ET. (ET Online) According to People, Peter and Lily spent the holidays with family at Mazatlan's exclusive Estrella del Mar Beach and Golf Resort. He popped the question during an intimate dinner on the beach. They then celebrated with Peter's daughters, Luca, Lola, and Fiona, as well as with Lily's parents, Gregory Harrison and Randi Oakes. (source) In fact, Page Six reports that US Weekly spotted Peter and Gregory playing a round of golf earlier that morning! (source) Peter proposed to Lily with an elegant pear-shaped diamond solitaire on a yellow gold band. A simple and beautiful choice.  

Who is Peter Facinelli?

For Twilight fans, the answer is obvious. He's Dr. Carlisle Cullen, founder and patriarch of the Olympic coven of vampires. Perhaps one of the most compassionate vampires of all time, Dr. Cullen remains a restrained, yet powerful 'vegetarian' vampire. (source) Of course, in real life, Peter Facinelli neither drinks non-human blood nor presides over a vampire coven. Instead, he plays doctors on TV. On Showtime's Nurse Jackie, he portrays golden boy Dr. Fitch 'Coop' Cooper. In addition, Peter starred in Fastlane, Supergirl, and most recently S.W.A.T. He also owns the production company Facinelli Films, where he produced, wrote, and acted in the film Loosies. (source) I find Peter's back story as fascinating as the characters he portrays. For one thing, his parents immigrated to America from Northern Italy. His father worked as a waiter in Queens. Raised Catholic, Peter attended Catholic school through high school. After one year of college, Peter literally changed course to pursue acting. He studied under William H. Macy, Camryn Manheim, Felicity Huffman, and other award-winning actors at the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School in New York. His hard work and dedication to his craft shows in every aspect of his career.  

Who is Lily Anne Harrison?

Lily Anne Harrison also works in the biz. In fact, she was raised adjacent to it, by her actor parents, Gregory Harrison and Randi Oakes. Harrison and Oakes are both accomplished actors, with credits dating back to the late 1970s. They appeared regularly on shows like Trapper John M.D. and Falcon Crest (Harrison), as well as CHiPS (Oakes). Lily Anne's parents married in 1981. They raised Lily alongside her brother and two sisters in Oregon. (source) Though she grew up sheltered from the buzz of LA, she developed a passion for acting and modeling, following in her parents' footsteps. She pursued her passion through the study of acting, screenwriting, and improv at schools in LA. She studied at UCLA, Lesly Khan & Company, The Groundlings School of Improv, and more. (source) A regular in Hallmark movies, Lily Anne also starred in Two Guys One Truck, The Craft Store, and One Tree Hill.
