Lamar Odom Engaged to Sabrina Parr

  Lamar Odom and Sabrina Parr publicly announced their relationship in August 2019. However, in interviews and Instagram posts, both have alluded to a longer connection. Most recently, Lamar posted an announcement about their engagement on November 11, 2019. While it appears they have only been together three months, their back story offers a variation to this timeline.  

A Little Back Story

During his first marriage to Liza Morales, Lamar experienced a tremendous amount of trauma and loss. They lost their infant son to SIDS in 2006, the same year he lost his aunt. Unfortunately, their marriage crumbled in the aftermath. In 2009, he married Khloe Kardashian, at which time his already public life hit high gear with appearances on both the Kardashian’s reality show and another reality show featuring just him and Khloe. In the midst of all the excitement of a public life, Lamar turned to drugs and sex to ease the pain of loss. After police arrested him for a DUI in 2013, Khloe filed for divorce. Two years later, the divorce remained pending. In October 2015, Lamar wound up in the hospital after suffering kidney failure and a series of heart attacks and strokes. Khloe rescinded the divorce in order to provide medical support for Lamar during his hospitalization and recovery. In January 2016, Lamar's doctors released him into Khloe’s care. According to Khloe, she planned to provide support for him only until he fully recovered. In fact, she refiled for divorce in May of 2016. In the years that followed, Lamar worked hard to obtain and maintain his sobriety. He also worked hard to recover from the effects of the stroke. In interviews, Sabrina Parr implies that she met Lamar at some point during these intensive years of recovery. Perhaps in her capacity as a life coach, or in her capacity as a personal trainer. Or perhaps just at the gym. Throughout their relationship, they have maintained privacy about the length of their involvement. So while it seems like he popped the question out of nowhere, I suspect he planned his proposal for far longer than it appears.  

Lamar Odom Proposes

Lamar proposed to Sabrina during dinner at Prime 112. Situated within the historic Browns Hotel in Miami, the steakhouse prides itself on its modern take on steak and ale. Departing from the usual dark leather and low lighting, Prime 112 features contemporary decor with an upscale atmosphere. The upbeat atmosphere encourages what they call a collective dining experience. (source) On the night in question, they enjoyed dinner with their friend Nene Leakes, from Real Housewives of Atlanta. After he opened the ring box, Nene celebrated with gusto. (source) Closeups of the ring reveal a gorgeous tear-drop shaped halo of diamonds centered by a shield of five round brilliant diamonds. Three diamond-studded bands support the ring. The center band features channel-set baguette diamonds, while the outer two bands feature prong-set round brilliant diamonds. Sabrina wears the tip facing away from her heart. The style is simply gorgeous!  

Who are Lamar Odom & Sabrina Parr?

In addition to his Kardashian association, Lamar Odom is well known for his basketball career. From 1999 through 2013, he played for LA, Miami, and Dallas. During his recovery, he turned to select strains of marijuana to support his recovery. As a result, he launched his own business, Rich Soil Organics. He hopes his line of CBD/THC infusions provide help to others suffering from the physical effects of addiction and pain. (source) In addition to her work as a personal trainer and life coach, Sabrina Parr also prides herself on being a mom and a former radio broadcaster.
