Adam DeVine Engaged to Chloe Bridges

Adam DeVine planned a secret proposal to his long-time girlfriend, Chloe Bridges. A few days later, on October 24th, he and Chloe announced their exciting news on Instagram.

The Announcements

"She said yes!" he gushed in the caption under a photo of him and Chloe riding on a boat. He drives, she holds him from behind, showing off her beautiful engagement ring. Her radiant smile says it all. In fact, she said something other than yes. "She actually said 'Ahhh, Adam' and then kissed me," he confessed. (source) On her own Instagram, Chloe shared a different photo. Same boat, same hug from behind, same beautiful engagement ring. She even glows with the same radiant smile, but this time Adam kisses her teeth! Though the photo oozes silliness and fun, her caption demonstrates serious intent. "I love this man with my whole heart and am excited to be with him forever. I've known we had a special connection since we first met..." she shares. (source) Of course, she devolves into a short bit of humor, claiming that in addition to the spark of connection between them, she also noticed his butt, his humor, and his monogrammed backpack. She goes on to conclude with another statement of adoration.

Adam DeVine, A Most Incredible Man

"...I quickly learned that he is the funniest, kindest, most incredible man I've ever met. I'm so proud to be his girl and will be even prouder to be his wife," she wrote. Indeed, Adam DeVine is an incredible human being. As a comedian, of course humor seeps into everything he endeavors. He lives to lighten the load for those who suffer. For Adam, humor serves as a tool that carried him through the worst season of his life. At age eleven, crossing the street on his bike, a cement truck ran over him, crushing his legs and rupturing his lung. After two weeks in a medically induced coma, Adam awoke to find himself in pain that not even the strongest drugs could alleviate. Between 6th and 9th grades, Adam underwent 26 surgeries to repair the damage to his legs. "I think that's why I got into comedy," he told Dax Shepard on his Armchair Expert podcast. (source) Taking his father's advice, he wrote pithy comebacks to say to the bullies who teased him about his infirmities and his scars. He learned early in life that people like to hang out with the guy who laughs in the face of adversity. The guy who isn't afraid to look silly in public, to have a good time, and to laugh himself to the other side of the pain. (source) To this day, Adam shies away from showing his legs in public. However, he stands tall, using humor to deflect the ills of the world and the taunts of bullies. Indeed, Adam took all of his pain and turned it into a passion for brightening the lives of other people with comedy. As he learned first hand, comedic movies and good stand-up comedy often carry people through their hardest days. Whether writing comedy, performing stand-up, or acting in a film, Adam finds great joy in bringing humor into the lives of his fans, as well as into life with his leading lady.
