Ronan Farrow Engaged to Jon Lovett

Typically, their fame involves high-profile politicians and seedy tastemakers. However, this time, media reports focused solely on the two of them. Offering a rare peek into their personal lives, Ronan divulged his unique proposal of marriage and his partner's acceptance.  

A Writer's Proposal

Known for their unique approach to life and work, writers stand in a class of their own. Ronan Farrow is no exception. In fact, by employing his singular approach to investigative journalism, he exposed the dark underbelly of Hollywood and single-handedly launched the #metoo movement. Evidently, even in love his approach remains unique. In his recently released book, Catch and Kill, Ronan reveals his unusual proposal: "Later, when I decided some of that reporting would make its way into a book, I'd send him a draft, and put in a question, right on this page: 'Marriage? On the moon or even here on earth.'" In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Ronan shared that Jon missed the proposal the first couple passes. After Ronan offered a hint, Jon searched the document for references to his name, but still missed it. Finally, he found the proposal and replied, "Sure." (source, source)  

Love & Politics

Jon and Ronan met in 2011, shortly after Jon transitioned from speechwriter for presidents and presidential candidates to launching Crooked Media. Since then, Jon created "1600 Penn," an NBC sitcom. In addition, he hosts the podcast Lovett or Leave It and co-hosts the podcast Pod Save America. (source, source) Prior to winning the Pulitzer Prize for public service for his reporting on Weinstein in The New Yorker, Ronan lost his job at NBC, faced financial ruin as influential people filed personal lawsuits against him, and suffered threats and surveillance. (source) Throughout the entire ordeal, not only did Jon Lovett provide emotional support, but he also encouraged Ronan to write his book afterward. Of course, in the writing of the book, remembering the chaos and the support Jon offered, Ronan Farrow decided to offer an even deeper commitment to the man who walked beside him through hell.
