The formal announcement of their engagement appeared in the marriages section of the London Times on August 7, 2018:

The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Herefordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands.

Following the formal announcement, Ellie and Caspar both made more informal announcements on their Instagram page. Ellie's words are just about everywhere on the web, as she pours out her heart in a rare public display of affection: "...we've had so many beautiful messages of support and love the past few days, as have our families, that we wanted to say thank you so much!" {source} She goes on to address her love: "You're the most wonderful person I've ever known, and I can't wait to be your very giggly, in awe and loved up wife x". {source} Caspar's message is the one that truly moves my heart, demonstrating how deeply in love these two really are: "I get to spend the rest of my life with this truly extraordinary and beautiful, beautiful person.
