Don Lemon Engagement Ring Details

He also wears a similar, though not identical, engagement band.  

Don Lemon Engagement Ring Details

I found a few tidbits about the engagement band Don Lemon wears. First of all, his boyfriend picked it out for him. (source) From the same source I learned that Lemon has received a bit of ribbing from co-anchor, Chris Cuomo. "Liberace was embarrassed by that ring," Cuomo said. (source) The photo Lemon posted on Instagram shows a sweet view of his ring, as well as a peek at the engagement ring Malone wears. Don Lemon wears a gorgeous wide white gold or platinum band centered with a line of spectacular rectangular white diamonds. Malone wears an unadorned wide band, also in what appears to be white gold or platinum. Malone scores big in my book for his choice of engagement rings. The ring possesses both class and elegance, while at the same time taking the whole traditional look to the next level. Gorgeous!  

The Proposal

From what I can tell, Us Magazine received the most thorough details from Don Lemon about Malone's proposal. Apparently, at first Lemon thought Malone might be joking. However, when he fell to one knee, reality set in. "His entire body was shaking, and he said, 'I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.' And I said, 'Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh, are you serious? This is real!' And I saw the box and I said, 'All right,'” Lemon told Us. (source) The proposal took place at the couple's home in Harlem, after a night out on the town to celebrate Malone's birthday. Unbeknownst to Lemon, Malone arranged for special dog tags for their puppies, Boomer and Barkley. The tags read "Daddy will you marry papa?"  

The Meet Cute

Don Lemon came out of the closet in his 2011 book, Transparent. Five years later, he met Tim Malone in New York. Just after his engagement, he shared that for a long time he feared he would never be able to share a relationship in public. Marriage to a lover felt even more impossible. Yet, now not only is he openly celebrating his happy news, but his family, friends, and fans are celebrating with him, as well. He told Us that calling Malone his fiance still feels weird. They're taking their time enjoying the blissful surrealism of it all. Indeed, Malone and Lemon aim to prepare for their wedding without getting caught up and bogged down in all the details. Though he claims to have given it very little thought, he did mention standing on a beach barefoot. (source) Sounds good to me. Congratulations to the happy couple! May the bliss continue to eternity.
