Cynthia Bailey Engaged to Mike Hill

Cynthia Bailey said yes to a surprise proposal from boyfriend Mike Hill at the end of July. Hill colluded with event planner Courtney Ajinca to make his proposal memorable. Indeed, with their family and friends surrounding them, and their children participating, Mike knocked it out of the park.  

The Proposal

The backdrop: A circle of greenery with a golden B for The Bailey Wine Cellar. The decor: Green foliage, red roses, grape clusters in green and red. Camphor vine arches and twisted root columns, plus more red roses. The toast: During the opening ceremonies, Mike stood beside Cynthia to offer a toast. As he began his speech, his youngest daughter Kayla interrupted, handing him a wine bottle with a question mark on it. "No, Dad, I think you should propose like this." Feigning surprise, he asked Cynthia's daughter Noelle to help him open the bottle. Instead of handing him a corkscrew, though, she stepped forward and handed him a ring box. She helped him open the ring box. Then, Mike knelt on one knee, as his daughters Ashlee and Kayla, as well as Cynthia's daughter, Noelle, stood behind him holding a heart-shaped puzzle piece that read, "Can we be a family?" Cynthia Bailey Reacts

At first Cynthia Bailey felt confusion. No doubt, she expected Hill's toast to lead to more toasts. Not this strange series of events involving her daughter and a mystery wine bottle. However, as soon as Mike knelt down, she burst into tears. After her swift assent, the crowd surrounding them burst into cheers of "Congratulations CHill!" (source) Rumor has it that Bravo TV cameras captured the whole scene in anticipation of season 12 of Real Housewives of Atlanta. The couple made their relationship uber public during season 10 of RHOA.  

The Relationship

Cynthia met Mike on The Steve Harvey Show in the early months of 2018. Apparently, during the show Steve Harvey gave Cynthia a choice between three eligible bachelors. She chose Mike Hill, and the two have been dating ever since, though they waited until August 2018 to make it official on social media. Cynthia told Bravo's The Daily Dish that Mike is "the real deal." Before meeting Mike, she wasn't sure she would ever get married again. However, with Mike, "it just feels normal to talk about our future together, because we just love each other so much." (source) Choosing to focus on peace at this time in her life, Cynthia shares that Mike fits the bill. "...when I see him, when he's around, when I'm at his place, when he's at my place, like, literally the stress just leaves my body." (source) Cynthia's daughter Noelle also adores him. "I love Mike. We have such a great relationship and it happened completely organically," she said. (source)  

The Ring

No engagement would be complete without the engagement ring! Mike Hill proposed to Cynthia with a 5-carat princess-cut diamond solitaire. Her band is substantial and paved in accent diamonds.
