Ashley Tisdale's Engagement Ring

Posted in: Celebrity Jewelry
Ashley Tisdale's engagement ring is a slice of beauty with a heavy dollop of mystery.  Last year toward the end of the summer, Ms. Tisdale stepped onto the red carpet for In Style's Hamptons-themed summer soiree. This was the public's first glimpse of Ms. Tisdale's engagement ring. She and now-hubby Christopher French were engaged on August 8, 2013. Her Tweet from that day reads, "Best night of my life. We're on top of the world." No picture, just the announcement. People seems to have had the scoop first, showing photos of a ring they called traditional, but not at all understated. Their reporter describes it as a "mega-carat cushion-cut diamond" on a platinum band. However, others report that the central stone is princess-cut or square-cut. The band could also be white gold, which seems to be the sometimes choice of Hollywood's stars. The central stone is surrounded by not one, but two halos of tiny round white diamonds. The double halo is tiered, making the diamond appear surrounded from every angle. The halos are in the shape of rounded squares, hugging the central stone snugly. The entire crown rests atop the stately shoulders of a high cathedral-type setting. There are tiny white diamonds on nearly every possible surface of the ring's mounting. Though Christopher chose a fairly traditional style for Ms. Tisdale, she shows her unique flair by mixing it up a bit with her metals. Ms. Tisdale wears her engagement ring with a simple gold band. It has been reported to be fashioned from yellow gold or rose gold. What do you think of Ms. Tisdale's engagement ring? Would you consider such a traditional, understated look?
