Not only has she appeared on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, she has established her own jewelry line. After several rounds of heartache, both public and private, Emily Maynard appears to have found the one. This time, she has said yes to a man who lives his life out of the public eye (at least he once did), management consultant Tyler Johnson. After dating the former reality TV star for over a year, Mr. Johnson filled her house with flowers and candles, proposing with five stackable rings laced with diamonds. "He...gave both Ricki and me rings. It was so sweet!" Ms. Maynard told US Weekly. This sweet southern girl hails from West Virginia, a coal miner's daughter. She fell deeply in love with her childhood sweetheart Ricky and became engaged for the first time at the age of 19. As she told America during her television debut, "I know what supposed to feel like" {cited}. In 2004, she lost Ricky in a tragic plane crash. The following Friday, she discovered she was pregnant. For the next seven years, she spent her days as "a nobody," raising her beautiful daughter Ricki and working as an event planner for a children's hospital. In 2011, she made a bold move to come out of her shell on national TV and try her heart at love again. During her first week on The Bachelor, she told the audience, "I'm not willing to settle...My mom always tells me it's better to be home alone than to be home and wish that you were alone" {cited}. With authenticity and grace, she opened her heart and allowed herself to feel love again. Her straight-shooting sweetness fully captured Brad Womack's heart, and as Chris Harrison said, "All of America watched as Brad asked Emily to marry him in one of the most magical proposals we've ever had on this show" {cited}. Heartache came again when reality crashed in on the fairy tale. Paparazzi, fighting, and short tempers raised "Little red flags. ... I didn't doubt that we loved each other. I just doubted that he was still going to want to be with me," she told Chris Harrison. Holding to her mom's sage advice, she called the engagement off. A little over a year later, she called off another one with Jef Holm. Though there was news of scandal, in public interviews Mr. Holm states that he was looking for a more adventurous life partner. Though some may doubt her conviction this time, E! reports that "She's super happy. He's her best friend." We share in the happy couple's excitement!
