Pippa Middleton has a bit of a reputation for being a bit competitive with her older sister Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge. That's probably why her long-time boyfriend, Alex Loudon, is reportedly taking his time to pick out the perfect diamond engagement ring for her.
Kate's ring, the gorgeous sapphire and diamond bauble worn by her mother-in-law, Princess Diana, has quickly become famous – meaning that Pippa's ring will have to be pretty spectacular in order to compete.
According to the Daily Mail, Loudon commissioned a friend in the Cotswolds to look for engagement rings, probably to avoid attracting too much news attention. The couple has been dating for three years, and even before the Duke and Duchess announced their marriage intentions, there were rumors that Pippa and Loudon were thinking of an engagement. However, they decided to put it on hold for the royal wedding.
Instead of opting for another vintage ring like Kates, Loudon is reportedly looking for a ring by designer Diane von Furstenberg, who is one of Pippa's favorites. We'll have to wait and see what he ends up deciding on, and whether or not it's comparable to Kate's!
