Kristen Bell's engagement ring was designed by celebrity designer Neil Lane. It features an emerald-cut diamond which appears to fall in the champagne color for fancy-colored diamonds. It is estimated to weigh over 3 carats. The diamond is bezel-set in a solid mount of platinum with fine milgrain details. The diamond is set in a hefty geometric crown with a column of five round white diamonds set into deep channels to either side. The band has a partial split near the top with three accent diamonds set into each shoulder. Ms. Bell's engagement ring was a gift from her now-husband Dax Shephard, of Parenthood fame. They were engaged over the holidays in late 2009, with the first public announcements made by Kristen's publicist in February of 2010. According to E!Online, the self-proclaimed "frugal" actor told Jimmy Kimmel that while he spared no expense on the engagement ring, he spent only $142 on their wedding. That includes the cost of the fuel required to transport them to the courthouse. As late as October 29, 2014, Mr. Shephard had yet to purchase himself a wedding ring. He joked with Jimmy that he might turn to Costco to get the job done.
