You've probably heard plenty of stories about people losing their diamond engagement rings or wedding bands, and it could happen to you or your man if you're not careful. Fortunately there are ways of keeping your rings safe when you're not wearing them.
1. Never put your ring in a pocket. Guys are especially prone to doing this, and their pockets are typically much less secure than those on pants made for women. If the pocket isn't very deep or the pants are loose-fitting, storing a vintage ring in there is a recipe for disaster. If you or your man must take the ring off, put it in a plastic bag or a pocket in your purse that will shut.
2. Get a wedding band or engagement ring that fits your finger snugly. You don't want to have to whip out a tub of butter to take your ring off, but it shouldn't be sliding around on your finger. If it's too big, you or your man may find yourself playing with it, which could lead to the ring being dropped.
3. Keep your vintage wedding rings in safe spots when you're not wearing them. This could include the box it came in, your jewelry box or even just a spot where you know you'll remember it.
As long as you keep it on your finger, you shouldn't have problems, but if you or your guy take off your wedding bands, be sure you know where you can find them!
