American Idol, the world-renowned reality TV show that features a contest of performances by wannabe musicians around the country, has been one of the most successful on-air shows from 2002 to present. Since the beginning, several winning contestants have proceeded to produce their own records as a result of the prominence they've obtained. On the show's most recent season finale, two former participants made a move that viewers hadn't anticipated.
According to Celebuzz.com, Diana DeGarmo, the runner-up of the show's third season, was endowed with an antique engagement ring when her boyfriend Ace Young (also a former contestant) proposed to her during the airing of the season finale on May 23. Young simply kneeled in front of her and muttered his declaration of love.
"We have conquered Broadway together. We have created our new music together." Young told the news source. "We have an amazing group of people around us. And with the help of David Webb jewelry I have a way to make this last forever. Are you ready?"
The classic vintage engagement ring is set with 18-karat yellow gold and platinum, and it's set with two-pronged diamonds that weigh approximately .2 carats each.
