These days, many men are running to buy the hottest vintage engagement rings for their lovely ladies, but one individual who intends to wait a little longer is Alexander Ovechkin.
As one of the most talented players in the National Hockey League, Ovechkin has made an ample amount of cash over the span of his short career – certainly enough to purchase a vintage engagement ring. However, Ovechkin recently told reporters that marriage is still in the distance for him and his longtime girlfriend, Maria Kirilenko.
NBC-4 Washington reported that Kirilenko was spotted with a large bauble on her finger, the type that could've only been given to her by her loving beau. Soon, engagement rumors began to swirl, but Ovechkin has since squashed them.
Hockey fans and hopeless romantics alike have been sending messages to Ovechkin on Twitter, asking him if marriage is in the near future. All he has said thus far is, "We'll see how it goes."
Whether he intends to propose tomorrow or years down the line, an antique engagement ring is certainly an easy way for Ovechkin to wow Kirilenko.
